The COVID-19 Canadian Urgent Isolation Campaign Playbook

Today's ask: Show us how you're social distancing or self isolating - post on social media and #CanUIso

Who are we reaching?

Youth (under 30) who can't isolate with their families right now.

Why are we doing this?

Isolation is a scary thought.

Youth already feel isolated in society and isolated from

other family members. We also potentially feel invincible to the virus. Evidence suggests we are more likely carriers even if we don't display symptoms. We are at our peak social stage of life. But we don't want to get COVID-19 or infect others.

What do we want them to do?

Find a safe (mentally and physically) place to hunker down for the next two weeks...minimum.

Physical safety comes from a location where you know the others in the space and you have some of your own space. Mental safety involves making sure you have someone with you (physically or virtually) that you trust and can support.

How do we do this?

A phased social campaign over the next four days.

  1. Capture Social distancing confusion (Friday/Saturday
    March 20/21)

  2. Commit to an iso-buddy and iso-pad for 14 days (Sunday/Monday)

  3. Share your iso-plan (Tuesday onward)

Post pics and videos, but also questions. We want questions so we can understand where youth are at and respond accordingly.

Starting today (Saturday March 21st 2020), please post on your social media channels. Show us how you're social distancing! Tell us the questions you may have about this situation. Don't forget to #CanUISo and @youthfulcities on your posts - oh and tag 3 friends and challenge them to do the same!
