Executive Director

I was born and grew up on Robinson-Huron treaty area (Sudbury) to settlers from northern India. I had the privilege of living in many different places but I now call Tkaronto home. Most of my working life has been spent with youth programs in the non-profit sector, the obvious landing spot for someone with degrees in mathematics, business and recreation studies. My past experience includes senior management roles at Canada World Youth and YMCA, and serving as Executive Director at Canadian Roots Exchange for 6 years. I value critical thinking and am passionate about seeing systemic changes to make communities more equitable. In my past life I was a competitive wrestler and now in my retirement I climb mountains and cycle around the city for fun.

Favourite city: If I could combine Tkaronto and Coast Salish territories (Vancouver) it would be the perfect city. I am a huge Raptors fan and the diversity and vibrancy of Tkaronto are hard to beat. But the mountains and oceans are in Vancouver…

My youthful value: Inventive: I like to imagine new ways and solutions to doing things.

Favourite snack food:Β  popcorn and potato chips (it’s a tie)

My role at Youthful Cities: Leading Youthful Cities’ operations in Canada.
